A combination of mordant and resist stamping and dyeing is the signature of this Chanderi silk cotton hand block-printed saree. These techniques once enabled Indian printers to create unique, sophisticated designs, coveted from Southeast Asia and palaces of Mughal emperors, to the far-flung capitals of Western Europe.
This beautiful fabric with its light and sheer texture weaves stories of grand palaces and luxurious havens setting it apart from other Indian textiles. Classified into three – Chanderi silk cotton, pure silk and Chanderi cotton, the distinction lies in the weaving of silk and gold Zari into traditional cotton yarn, which gives it the luxurious shimmer.
